Olympic rider and patron Dr. Samuel Schatzmann has died

(4.11.2016) It is with great sadness to learn that Dr. Samuel Schatzmann has died. The horse community has lost a great personality. The jurist and patron from Oftringen has died at the age of 61. He had belonged to the Swiss dressage team for many years and together with his horse Rochus he won the silver medal at the Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988. With dedication he also supported horse breeding and appeared as a sponsor of several riders. Pius Schwizer also benefitted of horses owned by him, for instance he rode the two greys Clayden and Con Dios III. „It is with huge regret that I learnt about Samuel Schatzmann’s death“, Pius Schwizer said. „He was a real horse person. I would like to express my heartfelt sympathy to his family and friends.”
