World Cup Final in Omaha, April 6-8, 2023
Thanks to the outstanding performances of the fantastic 14 year old stallion Vancouver de Lanlore (3rd of the World Cup Grand Prix in Basel, 3rd of the World Cup Grand Prix in Leipzig and 2nd of the World Cup Grand Prix in Gothenburg), Pius got his ticket for the World Cup Final in Omaha.
After taking a great 4th place in the Speed class on the first day, Vancouver also took the 4th place in the second class in the Grand prix format, a 160 class with jump-off, thanks to a double clear round.
This left Pius and Vancouver in the lead in the provisional classification before the final. They maintained their position in the first round of the final thanks to another clear round, but unfortunately, two faults at the end of the second round relegated them to 12th place in the final. A result that is both a little disappointing, as the couple was very close to a medal, but also promising for the next big events.
CSI 3* + 1* Busto Arsizio April 14-16, 2023
Five horses took the start in Busto Arsizio.
In the 3* label, Ambrosio had a dream weekend. He got the second place in the first ranking class at 1m45 and even won the second one!
Christina also had great results, finishing 4th in a 140 and 1st in the small grand prix 140.
Casallino was 14th in a 140 before finishing 7th in the difficult 3* Grand Prix.
In the 1* label, Pinky did some excellent schooling in order to prepare for the young horse events in Fontainebleau, while Fragance won the 1* Grand Prix.
CSI 4* + YH Fontainebleau April 20-22, 2023
If the impressive track did not seem to suit Ambrosio and Christina, who were a bit emotional and made some unusual mistakes, it seemed to please the promising 8-year-olds Farenheit de Beaufour and Pinky Pie de Libersart. Farenheit was placed 7th in the first class for young horses and finished 9th in the Grand Prix for 8-year-olds. Pinky, who was a bit shy in the first days, took an excellent 4th place in the same grand prix.
Pius was also extremely happy with the strong results of his rider Alexis Goulet, who not only won a world ranking class with the promising Calla, but also finished 8th in the French Pro Elite Championships with Cordico.
CSI 3* + 1* Nancy April 27-30, 2023
In the 1* label, Fragance once again demonstrated its competitiveness by winning one of the big tour classes.
In the 3* label, Trinity was placed 6th of a 135 while Casallino won another event of the same height.
This CSI was an opportunity for Pius to discover two new horses: Nikias Ligie and Castiel.
Castiel realized very promising results by taking the 7th place of a 140 and a 145.
Nikias made very good rounds in the 1* label and was unfortunately penalized with a fault in the Grand Prix 140.
