World Cup Leipzig: Leonard’s win, Lester’s debut

(22.1.2017) What he narrowly missed one week ago in Basel, Pius Schwizer achieved in Leipzig: He won a car – namely a neat Mercedes-Benz CLA 180 Shooting Brake. Being a brand ambassador for Mercedes-Benz Pius Schwizer was full of joy after his success with Leonard de la Ferme CH. The bay gelding measures over 1,8 metres and prooved to be very agile in the World Cup qualification, snatching away the win from second placed Ludger Beerbaum with Chaman. – Nine year old Lester IX enjoyed a very promising debut in the World Cup on Sunday. He jumped the big course easily, just had to accept two tiny mishaps. On Saturday night he had already impressed in the Six Barres by masterfully jumping the 1,7 metres in the third jump-off. – In the Young Horses classes Pius Schwizer rode the eight year old Cortney-Cox 2 and did very well. They took a good 8th place and 6th place in the final. – Pius Schwizer presented the Hungarian gelding Belcanto for the first time and the new couple immediately produced good rounds. „He is a very talented horse and is owned by Mariann Hugyecz. I was very satisfied with all my horses here in Leipzig.“ – Next stop will be the Mercedes-Benz CSI Zurich. Pius Schwizer, being last year’s winner in the World Cup competition, does hope for another successful home event.
