(28.5.2017) Pius Schwizer was part of the Swiss team in Rome’s Nations Cup. He rode Balou Rubin R and collected 8 and 4 points. Christina Liebherr and Werner Muff had exactly the same result, only Steve Guerdat on Bianca was clear twice. Switzerland had to make do with seventh place while Italy celebrated a much cheered win on home soil. Pius Schwizer had several beautiful rounds on the idyllic show ground Piazza di Siena. With Belcanto III he was 3rd in the Accumulator and 5th in the Two Phases. Riding Leonard de la Ferme CH he took 12th place in Saturday’s main competition, after having the fastest four faulter already on Thursday. The time would have been good enough for the win. Also in the Grand Prix he and Balou Rubin R produced the fastest round with four points. Unfortunately he was thirteenth and narrowly missed out on the prize money. It was Jur Vrieling with Glasgow vh Merelsnest who took the big win. „My horses did a very good job here, I was just a little bit unlucky“, Pius Schwizer said. – Next stop will be the Athina Onassis Horse Show in St-Tropez.
