Ups and downs in Geneva

I was looking forward to participating in this incredible competition and unfortunately came back very disappointed with myself.

Casallino, who shone in the last few competitions, made himself very small in Geneva. He made a small mistake in the opening class at 1m40 and unfortunately stopped on a vertical fence next to the big river during the hunting class. We were relegated to 12th place.

Christina was also very impressed with the arena, the noise, the surroundings and the atmosphere of this very special indoor. The results were not as expected. Nevertheless, it was a great experience for this excellent mare on which I am counting on a lot next year.

As for Vancouver, he was very at ease in Geneva, but he turned out to be a little too fresh afterwards and I had a little trouble managing his enthusiasm. I had indeed given him a long break after Barcelona and had only ridden two rounds at Ornago the week before Geneva. I noticed that he was missing a competition to be at the top of his form. However, he jumped extremely well in the 1m55 class on Saturday evening and I am very confident for the next competitions.

I was particularly happy with the victory of my rider, Alexis Goulet, in the Grand Prix U25 with his 8 year-old mare Calla as well as the qualification of Lord Toulon with Florence for the Prix FECH reserved for the ten best Swiss horses of 7 and 8 years old. She had a wonderful season with this stallion in which I believe enormously and they made a superb course in Geneva, even if the luck was not on their side on the last fence of the class.
