March Summary

CSI 4* + YH Braunschweig March 2-5

Pius went to Braunschweig with 4 horses: Pinky Pie de Libersart, Christina, Carrick MB and Ambrosio d’Alcy.

In the young horse classes, Pinky was penalized by 4 points on the first day, but took her revenge on the next day with a nice 2nd place.

In the 4* label, Christina finished in an amazing 5th place in the 145 on Friday, while Carrick finished 5th in the small grand prix on Saturday.

Ambrosio was very stressed by the proximity of the public and the conformation of the arena and unfortunately missed his competition.

CSI 2* + 1* Samorin March 9-19, 2023

5 horses made the trip to Slovakia to compete for 2 weeks in the splendid facilities of the X-Bionic Sphere.

Two promising 8 year old horses entered the 1* label, the approved Selle Français stallion Farenheit de Beaufour (Diamant de Semilly x Cassini I), and the mare Fragance de Pleville (Casall x Hickstead).

Casallino, Carrick and Christina were competing in the 2* classes.

The horses all obtained excellent performances that can be summarized as follows:

1st week

Farenheit: 4th of a 135 and 4th of the Grand Prix 1* 140
Fragance : 2nd of a 130
Casallino: 1st of a 140 and 1st of the Grand Prix 2*145
Carrick : 5th of a 140 and 1st of a 135
Christina: an excellent time but unfortunately a small fault in the 145 which counts for the world ranking.

2nd week

Farenheit: 7th of a 135 and a small fault in the Grand Prix 1* 140
Fragance : victory on 130 and 135
Casallino : 2nd on 140 and a fault on the last obstacle in the Grand Prix 2* 145
Christina : victory on 140

CSI 3* + 1* Gorla Minore March 24-26

Pius could count on 5 horses for his first outdoor competition which took place not far from Milan, in the Equieffe Equestrian Centre.

Cassitaro, that Pius was competing for the first time, finished at the 10th place of a 135 and was unfortunately penalized of 4 points in the Grand Prix 1* 140.

Ambrosio had a wonderful competition. He won the first qualifier for the Grand Prix, a 145 ranking, and would have won the 150 ranking if he had not been penalized with a fault on the last jump.

Trinity d’I took an excellent 5th place in the small GP 145.

Luke Mockridge did very good rounds and was ranked 14th in a 135.
